What is Mobile Number Portability?

There is no need to change your mobile number while changing Mobile Phone Service Operators. As an example, if you have a Vodafone mobile number then you could choose Airtel Connection without changing your number; it means your old phone number will remain unchanged but tariff plan, network services will changed to another mobile service provider.

Starting date of MNP (Mobile Number Portability Service) in India is 20th January 2011. Details of Mobile Number Portability as follows:

• The Price / Charge / Cost for Mobile Number Portability service in India is up to Rs.19/- only.

• Maximum Porting time 7 working days except Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and North-East (15-Working days) – time require for Mobile number portability service while changing from one operator to another.

Process of using Mobile Number Portability:

1. Contact your new mobile service provider and collect Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) along with Porting Form.

2. To get the Unit Porting Code; you should send a sms ‘PORT {space} Mobile Number’ to 1900.

3. Submit CAF Forms and Porting Form with required documentation.

4. If you are a Post Paid Customer then submit CAF + Porting Form and Last payment receipt.

5. Collect new SIM Card from NEW Mobile Service Provider.

6. Your new mobile service provider will inform you’re the porting time and date after successful mobile number portability process.

7. After the acknowledgment; change to Old SIM from the New Mobile service provider’s SIM.

Rules & Restrictions of Mobile Number Portability:

1. One can’t use Mobile Number Portability process within the 90-days from the Date of New Connection taken and from the last Porting Date.

2. Mobile Number Portability will be done only in local networks as of now.

2011 TRAI Telemarketers Registration Process, Fees, Download Online Form | Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Notice

All the Tele-Marketers of India should register themselves to TRAI before calling any mobile phone customers as per the rule of Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation 2010. Please check details of TRAI 2011 Telemarketers Registration procedure below:

The Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation Act 2010 was issued on 1st December 2010 by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). The detail TRAI Telemarketing Rules can be downloaded from www.nccptrai.gov.in or www.trai.gov.in. As per TRAI Rules and Regulations all existing and upcoming new Telemarketers of India should register their names to TRAI (Full name of TRAI is Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). Registration Fees of Telemarketers is Rs.1000/- and Customer Education Fee of TRAI is Rs.9000/- should be paid at once as there is no installment payment process and payments can be done online or by Corporation Banks in India. Indian Telemarketers can complete TRAI registration Online via www.nccptrai.gov.in (Website portal of TRAI India).

After the successful TRAI Registration; Telemarketers will get Registration Number immediately and then need to tie-up with Access Providers to get Telecom Customer Resource. The TRAI Registration will be valid for 3-years, if not withdrawn in between. TRAI Registered Telemarketers of India can be checked from www.nccptrai.gov.in. TRAI Telemarketer Registration 2011 process starts from 15-January-2011.
